GP Batteries launch award-winning range of torches in the UK

A head lamp isn’t the pxnly choice for the outdoors. GP Batteries aim to fill a niche with their new range of premium, high-power hand torches for outdoor use
The new GPDesign ‘Beam’ collection of torches has been designed for the serious outdoor user. Meticulously crafted for easy handling and robust performance, they feature a rugged ergonomic design and high-quality anodised finish, with easy one-hand operation. Other characteristics include IPX-4 water resistance, high/low brightness settings including SOS function, a tail stand, and reverse polarity protection.
While many hillwalkers select a head lamp for hands-free operation, there are benefits to choosing a hand torch – either instead of or in addition to a head lamp. A light source at waist or chest level can improve depth perception when traversing indistinct terrain due to the flatter angle of the beam, and it’s easier to avoid blinding your walking buddy if you’re holding a hand torch!
GPDesign Beam torches feature a lumen range of 100 to 1,000, high-quality CREE LEDs, aircraft-grade aluminium construction, and industry-leading GP Battery cells. The entire torch collection was recently awarded the internationally recognised Red Dot Award in the ‘Product Design 2017’ category.

There are eight models in the range.

Every Day Carry P15 (SRP £24.99) – robust and tough. 15-150 lumen output and pulse width modulation (PWM) regulation for accurate light output at different levels.
Task P36 Durable (SRP £34.99) – a slim design that fits easily in the pocket. 25-300 lumens, three brightness levels plus strobe, one-handed focus system, half-press switch for momentary-on.
Multi-purpose P53 Tough (SRP £44.99) – rugged design for outdoor use. 20-300 lumen, three brightness levels plus strobe, one-handed focus system with focus lock, dual switch for one-handed operation, instant strobe and momentary-on.

Multi-purpose Pro P55 (SRP £49.99) – tough and rugged design for tactical or outdoor use. 20-400 lumens, three brightness levels plus strobe, one-handed focus system with focus lock, dual switch for one-handed operation, instant strobe and momentary on, advanced light mode.
Penlight PP16 (SRP £34.99) – highly portable, compact and lightweight. 20-140 lumens, with PWM regulation for accurate light output at different levels.
Penlight PP13 (SRP £24.99) – also highly portable and lightweight, with a 15-100 lumen beam output, comfortable one-handed focus system and PWM regulation for accurate light output at different levels.
High Lumen Rechargeable PR57 (SRP £84.99, power bank not included) – a seriously powerful torch with up to 1,000-lumen output, requiring a rechargeable Li-ion 18650 battery. Three brightness levels plus strobe, dual switch for one-handed operation, instant strobe and momentary on, PWM regulation for accurate light output at different levels
