The Bach Kiwi camping chair is aimed at users who are taller or more heavily built, but also want a lightweight chair. A wide seat and a high back make sitting for long periods more comfortable, and the chair has a high maximum load capacity of 145kg. The back is only 10cm higher than many similar chairs but this makes a noticeable difference. It is not high enough to provide neck support, but this would take this chair into a heavier category. A seat height of 40cm is high enough that you can sit with your legs at a comfortable angle.

Stability is very good overall. Leaning backwards or sideways feels very stable indeed, but leaning forwards not so much. In fact it can feel like you could overbalance quite easily if leaning forward in this chair, so it is perhaps not as suitable for sitting in whilst cooking on a stove at ground level.

The materials are extremely high quality throughout and I’m confident that this is a very durable product. The 600D Cordura polyester seat is both hard-wearing and quick-drying. There are mesh panels on both sides of the seat which really help with ventilation in hot conditions. Mesh can be a weak point in terms of durability, but this is very tough 840D powermesh and it is highly resistant to tears.

This Bach Kiwi chair couldn’t really be any quicker to assemble. The poles snap together quickly and smoothly, and handy pull tabs on the pole pockets help you to secure the seat with minimum effort. When packed down in its carry sack, you get an easily portable package of around 45x10x12cm size. At 1030g (including the carry sack) this is a lightweight chair when you consider its generous seat size and high grade materials. Overall this is an impressive camp chair which will appeal to users who are looking for some additional comfort without paying too much of a weight penalty.
