The Runbolds are light, thin, stretchy trousers suitable for warm weather use. The fabric is soft and comfortable and very breathable though not that wind resistant. It feels quite tough despite the thinness and should last well. The cut is fairly loose, allowing for complete freedom of movement. The legs are quite long but easily shortened. The pockets are roomy and the thigh one will hold a map, though, as usual, the top sticks out. A neat touch is a tab and loop system to hold the legs in place rolled to three-quarter length, just like the ones found on many shirts.
The Runbolds are slightly more expensive than some similar trousers but the design is good and the weight and packed bulk very low. For summer backpacking I think they are excellent.
