This November, the Kendal Mountain Photography Competition will give photographers the chance to share their vision of mountain landscapes, adventure pursuits, people and places
The prestigious competition, presented by Danner, has become a top highlight of the Kendal Mountain Festival and every year it continues to discover new talent and celebrate images that reflect the creative vision of the photographer.
Shortlisted entries will be exhibited in key festival locations and will be rewarded with top prizes from Danner and the supporting sponsors F-Stop and Smugmug.

- Mountain Landscapes
- Young Photographer – ‘Adventure on your doorstep’ (18 years and under)
- Smartphone – ‘Friends in High Places’
- Fido on the Fells (Canine shots up high)
- Urban Outdoors
+ People’s Choice Award + Grand Prize (Overall Winner)
The judging panel will be overseen by esteemed US photographer Jim Herrington alongside KMF and Danner representatives. Judges will be looking for images that capture moments in daily adventures, either in the great outdoors or urban landscapes.
The Grand Prize
This year the Grand Prize winner will receive a 4*, two-night, half-board stay for two in Danner’s partner hotel, the luxurious Huus Hotel in Switzerland, plus two Danner boots.
Top contenders will be invited to attend a private reception on Friday 17 November in Kendal. The Grand Prize and People’s Choice awards will be announced at the festival awards ceremony on Saturday 18 November.
