Enjoy 25 mile and 16 mile challenge walks in astounding scenery

The popular Purbeck Plod organised by the Ramblers’ East Dorset Group will take place on Sunday 10 July 2016.   Both walks form a great introduction to the beautiful Isle of Purbeck and start in the town of Swanage where they follow the dramatic cliff top path through the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

The 25 mile route goes to Kimmeridge Bay where it turns inland to the northern Purbeck ridge and follows the ridge eastwards before dropping down to picturesque village of Corfe Castle.  The route then continues once more along the undulating ridge, offering extensive views of Poole Harbour and the English Channel, before descending to finish in Swanage.

The 16 mile option follows a similar route but turns inland near Chapman’s Pool going through quiet countryside to re-join the 25 mile route at Corfe Castle. The 25 mile route is open to walkers and runners, whilst the 16 mile option is for walkers only.

Advanced entry fee is £5 (£7 on the day).   The closing date for advanced entries is Saturday 25 June 2016.

Most checkpoints will offer cold drinks and some will offer light snacks.  Food will be provided at the finish along with a timed certificate for all participants.  The organisers regret that the walks are not suitable for dogs.
