Four action-packed days and over 70 films

The Kendal Mountain Festival has become one of the main events in the UK outdoor calendar, year-on-year it showcases the best films from around the world on adventure, mountain culture, environment and exploration. On 17-20 November it returns with another action-packed programme.

At the heart of the festival is the International Film Competition, attracting premières from around the world. Over 70 films are screened (from 200+ entries) with eleven coveted awards up for grabs. One of the highlights is set to be the unveiling of the documentary following Leo Houlding’s epic Mirror Wall ascent.

If running is your thing, there’s a multitude of excellent running events and talks to check out as well. There’s the mountain running Endurance night special with record-breaking fell runners Jasmin Paris & Robb Jebb,  plus you can spend a couple of hours watching the best of Salomon’s TV running series.

On the Saturday, a trail run of 10km will take place around Kendal, taking in the landmarks that many of the locals use for their training. It’s been described as a classic trail run, strewn with natural obstacles with lots of great ascents, some hard-packed and grassy trails and a great town centre finish.
