Get inspired by an evening of adventure (and have a free beer!)

On June 16 at Fourpure Brewery’s taproom in Bermondsey, London, Fourpure Brewing Co. is holding the first of the ‘Inspired By Adventure’ Speaker Series.

During the evening, Mark Hines will be presenting ‘Arctic Snows – Tales from the 1000-Mile Trails’ discussing his expedition across Arctic Alaska and Canada. There’ll also be a series of short adventure films curated by Sidetracked Magazine.

Mark Hines

On February 1, 2016, Mark Hines set foot on the Chena River, in Fairbanks, Alaska, and began his 1000-mile journey to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory. A relatively warm winter with minimal snowfall meant a soft trail and exhausting work to haul the heavy sled. Solo and without a support crew, dragging everything he needed for the whole expedition from the start, Mark arrived at the finish line after 39 days in the Alaskan and Canadian wilderness.

By the time he finished he had suffered frostbite and broken ribs. He had shared the trail with the Yukon Quest dog teams, and with countless wolves, moose, caribou, lynx and mountain lions. This was the greatest adventure of his life so far, and an epic story of endurance, solitude, and adventure in the Far North.

The doors open at 6pm. Mark Hines will talk about his expedition from 7pm and the films will start at 8pm.

Ticket price includes a can of Fourpure beer. Tickets cost £10 (plus booking fee) and include a can of beer. They are available here.

The next event will be a talk by Alastair Humphreys and more films curated by Sidetracked on June 24. The tickets are available here.
