Following the success of the Hyper 100, Berghaus has extended its ultra-lightweight jacket collection with the new Hyper 140 (£180), designed for fast and light days of multiple activities in the mountains.  The 2.5L Hydroshell® Elite fabric is extremely waterproof (20,000mm hydrostatic head) and breathable (MVTR of 60,000), with a six-denier face that Berghaus say is remarkably tough.  The seamless main body construction uses one piece of fabric to deliver outstanding articulation and freedom of movement at a minimal weight. Features include a low-profile hood with bonded peak, two lower handwarmer pockets, pre-elasticated hem and close-fitting ergonomic cuffs.  The Hyper 140 weighs only 138g (medium) and comes with its own stuff sac.

The jacket also features cleverly designed zipped underarm vents.

This lightweight and technical jacket (SRP £290) has been designed for the worst conditions faced on long, arduous mountain days. It features a combination of three high-performance GORE-TEX® fabrics to offer varying degrees of breathability and durability across key zones.  Body mapped bluesign® approved GORE-TEX® Active delivers extremely breathable waterproof protection around the core body, while durable new generation GORE-TEX® PACLITE® has been strategically placed to ensure protection in areas that are prone to abrasion, including the chest and arms.  The revolutionary new GORE-TEX® Topo Stretch fabric is used around the cuffs and hem for great stretch and comfort.

Enhanced ventilation when working really hard comes in the form of a patented Berghaus Vapour Storm vent at the top of the back, while additional protection from the elements is provided by a single point adjustable, helmet compatible hood.  At 375g (men’s M) and 284g (women’s size 12), the Changtse offers plenty of performance for a very reasonable weight.
