Three days of guided walking for all abilities
Friday 11 – Sunday 13 May 2018
The second Kendal Walking Festival (11 – 13 May 2018) consists of three days of guided walking set in the wonderful scenery that surrounds Kendal. It’s superbly situated as a gateway to the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. There are also opportunities to attend a number of interesting evening talks that have been specially arranged for the occasion.
A full programme is available here. Highlights include walks to the Northern Howgills, the Kentmere Horseshoe, an insight into Mountain Rescue, and an evening with A. Wainwright himself!
Kendal makes a superb base for those who enjoy walking, and offers a wide variety of walking experiences surrounded by beautiful scenery. It’s a five-minute drive into the Lake District National Park and 20 minutes from the Yorkshire Dales.
England’s largest lakes and highest mountains are within easy reach. The scenic Cumbrian Coastal Way and the Dales Way both pass close to Kendal. The town, once home to Britain’s most famous walk writer A. Wainwright, also has a lot to offer, whether you’re looking for culture, nature, history, shopping, eating or drinking.
