Kirk Watson reviewed Rab’s waterproof jacket

Fit: A great-fitting jacket that is well designed and put together.

Material: This is made from three-layer eVent® fabric. It works very well and is waterproof and breathable even in very bad conditions. Its is slightly heavier than some of the jackets reviewed. It is a bombproof material though, made even more dependable thanks to its reinforced shoulders and elbows.

Hood: The wire-peaked hood is perfect and fits a helmet.

Pockets: Pockets are waterproof lined and a good size but there are four of them on top of each other on the chest. The side-entry pockets would be better off not being there. They just add weight and bulk, even with nothing in them.

Venting: Good pit zips.

Price: A slightly pricier waterproof jacket but you get plenty for your money.

Conclusion: If you got rid of two pockets off the front then there would be little to criticise: great design, perfect hood, hard wearing, waterproof and breathable.
