The Micron is a simple thin fleece jacket with no special features or properties. The unbranded fabric is about the same thickness and warmth as Polartec 100 and has a smooth outer and a slightly raised inner. The weight is low – only the much more expensive Berghaus Scorch weighs less – and the packed bulk reasonable. What makes it really worth considering though is the ridiculously low price. There are no immediate disadvantages I have discovered. The garment is well-made though there are fewer stitches per inch than on other fleeces. There are no zips on the pockets but this can be an advantage when using them as handwarmers. The Micron probably won’t last as long as more expensive fleeces but then you can buy three for the cost of the next cheapest fleeces in the test. I did find the fit on the small side – I can just wear the medium over a thin base layer – so a size larger than usual would be advisable.
