The Nemo Forte is the only synthetic sleeping bag I’ve tested and that does mean it is the heaviest but it will also keep you warm even when damp. I was surprised by how small I could pack the bag thanks to a useful compression stuff bag. There is also a very large mesh storage bag. It provides good warmth in night-time temperatures above 2C/3C and while a down-filled bag feels floaty warm, the 800g synthetic fill provides a comforting home-duvet style weight. You sold note that the men’s bags are longer and have 555g Zerofiber fill.

Fiona Russell’s Recommended

Overall, I slept really well in this bag and because it is a three-seasons bag at a price of under £200, I am recommending it for people with a tighter budget.

Two Thermo Gill™ vents have been added to allow you greater temperature control. Basically, you open and close short zips on the outside of the bag to let in more air. I can’t say this made a huge difference to warmth or coolness.

The Blanket Fold™ draught collar is fine, although I wold prefer an integrated full-circumference baffle. Meanwhile, the integrated pillow pocket is an excellent idea. Just slip in spare clothes or an inflated pillow and it stays in place. The inner fabric is delightfully silky, while the outer fabric is a bit annoyingly noisy.

Nemo has designed what it call a Classic Spoon™ shape so there is plenty of space to move about inside if you like to sleep curled up or on your side. A niggle is the full-length side zip, which is a bit snaggy at times.

The Forte is part of Nemo’s more planet-friendly Endless Promise range, which on closer inspection, means it is made with recycled or reclaimed materials “if they’re confirmed to reduce carbon emissions” . There are other pledges, such as products being repairable, resaleable and recyclable at the end of life but the applicable schemes are currently not available to UK or European consumers, only those  in the US.

Overall, I slept really well in this bag and because it is a three-seasons bag at a price of under £200, I am recommending it for people with a tighter budget.
