The Fusion Plus Microfleece is a simple sweater made from a lightweight fleece with a brushed inner and a smooth outer that is slightly thicker and a touch warmer than Polartec 100. The fabric is soft and comfortable and there’s a high collar that keeps the neck warm. The only feature is a small zipped patch pocket on the chest. Craghoppers describe this as “mock fused” as at a glance it looks like a welded pocket though it’s actually stitched. The pocket has a headphone outlet. More usefully it will hold a compass or a small GPS unit. There are no handwarmer pockets. The fit I found slightly odd as the body in the medium size is ample but the sleeves are slightly short – and I don’t have long arms. The weight is low, as is the price, and this is a perfectly adequate fleece if you don’t need any features and it fits. And if you don’t want that tiny chest pocket there is the Corey II Microfleece at £30.
