Another stiff, heavy leather boot, the Meindl Bhutan looks excellent for steep, snowy slopes. The fit is slightly narrow for me – I couldn’t walk far in these without foot pain. Cushioning is good, as is grip. A rubber rand runs right round the sole and the toe and heel are solid. The leather upper is a two-piece one so there are side seams.
