David Johnson and Nicky Oliver are fellwalking friends from Grasmere with multiple Wainwright Rounds between them (read about their most recent winter Wainwright-bagging adventure on page 38). David is also a fellrunner and alpinist with a keen interest in polar travel; he has ascended several 4,000m peaks and been on expeditions to the high Arctic and Antarctica. Trail runner Nicky is currently training for the Cape Wrath Explorer in May. Her next multi-day walk is a winter St Cuthbert’s Way in February.
