The combination of Pertex Microlight and Polartec Alpha supposedly makes this the ideal jacket for any ‘stop-go’ activities such as scrambling or climbing: providing warmth along with a high degree of breathability. It’s essentially seeking to be a jacket that you don’t have to keep taking off and putting on.

The Polartec Alpha forms the insulation; its high loft technology said to provide a good warmth to weight ratio (300g), breathability, compressibility and a quick drying time. To compliment this, the Pertex Microlight with DWR coating adds water and wind resistance.

It has an athletic fit, features a zipped chest pocket, Lycra hand gaiters, and a drawcord hem that can be adjusted with one hand, and comes in four colours: inferno-black, dark cruise, dark indigo and amazon (pictured).

Should be suitable as a mid layer for very cold and wet days, and as an outer for milder days. Keep an eye out for our full review of this.
