Brand new trail shoe from the British brand – out now
The Explorer Active, which is available in men’s and women’s styles, is built on the same design as the original Explorer boot, only this is a lighter, stripped-down version. It should be suited to faster-paced activities on the hill or for any trail or low-level walking. There’s some nice technology used: a Gore-Tex Extended Comfort waterproof lining, Vibram XS Trek Opti-Stud outsole, EVA in the midsole for shock absorption, and footbeds with anti-microbial properties.
Berghaus claims that over 1,000 hours of on-the-hill testing has been carried out on this new model, with the brand’s athletes and staff acting as guinea pigs in the design process.
It’s out now and should be retailing at Berghaus’ suggested price of £110.
