LifeStraw’s new durable stainless steel water filter has been named as the Gold Winner in the Outdoor Category by ISPO, the internationally renowned sporting goods industry award.

The filter is lightweight, portable, chemical-free and requires no electrical power or batteries. It removes bacteria and protozoa while also reducing chlorine, bad taste and odour, all thanks to a two-stage water filtration process involving an activated carbon filter and hollow fibre technology.

LifeStraw has pledged that for every one of its products sold it will ensure that one school child in rural Kenya will be given access to safe water for an entire school year.

The ISPO Award is the quality seal from the annual exhibition held in Munich on 24-27 January. It’s one one of the world’s most important trade shows for the sports industry.

Alison Hill, Managing Director for the LifeStraw brand, said that, “being recognized as the top outdoor brand by leaders in the sporting goods industry is such incredible validation.” She added that the company will “continue to innovate and introduce high quality, top performing LifeStraw filters and purifiers to meet safe water needs of outdoor enthusiasts.”
