Making the mountains ‘liveable’, BACH Equipment’s APTERYX Tent could be your new home for a night under the stars.

As the seasons change, choosing the right tent for your next camping adventure could mean the difference between feeling at home in the outdoors and spending your waking hours in regretful discomfort, praying for sunrise.

But not many of us can justify owning a number of tents for every eventuality in the hills. To ensure safety in all weathers, happy campers often opt for a four-season tent to give them reassurance and preparedness all-year-round.

This is what BACH Equipment are offering with the APTERYX Tent range.

Founded in a shed in Waterford, Ireland in 1979 and migrating to Switzerland with mountain guide Martin Wiesmann in the 90s, BACH understands rough conditions.

The team of designers and testers has been creating and innovating backpacks for over four decades, perfecting the foundation for which BACH is known today: reduced design, robust materials, and adjustable fit.

Now, the company has applied these principles to tents. The 4-season APTERYX tunnel tent range offers protection and comfort for a carefree outdoor experience.

The range, designed for either two or three people and weighing in at 2400g and 2800g, respectively, features a spacious vestibule that can be entered via two openings and regulates ventilation.

The sleeping area allows plenty of room, even for taller adventurers. BACH set out to create a tent that is truly liveable and are confident it “can hardly be surpassed in comfort”.

The APTERYX is also user-friendly, with a pitching time of five minutes and a fly-first pitching option for wet weather. The kit is colour-coded for simple construction and a pole field-repair tube is included.

It’s the details that make all the difference in difficult conditions.

Alongside its comforts, the APTERYX exhibits a level of functionality that is needed on the hills. These tents are specifically designed for trekking and boast smart technology to reduce weight, including superlight aluminium V-pegs with eco-friendly anodising as well as GorLyn 30 Fly fabric. But the materials don’t compromise on resistance.

They are tough enough to meet the needs of hikers, cyclists, and mountaineers alike. BACH’s priority is to offer to you a tent you can rely on anywhere in the world under any conditions.

This quality and reliability is partly derived from BACH’s recent acquisition of the product and production details from Dutch manufacturer, Nigor Tents & Furniture.

BACH’s Brand Manager, Maarten Harteveld, said, “We have increased our team of designers and our experience as pack builders gives us an advantage when our skills are applied to making tents.

We have discovered that it works the other way, too: spending time on tents and furniture is enhancing our knowledge of how to build even better packs.”

BACH intend to continue the Nigor legacy as they explore new ways in which to equip the world’s adventurers. So, you can sleep soundly, listening to rain lash at the roof of your new home in the hills, knowing decades of combined expertise will keep you sheltered.
