This is a gorgeous mid layer from Fjällräven and one I’ve barely taken off, whether on the hill, in the pub or shopping in town. The brushed fleece inner is incredibly soft against the skin and the material – 70% polyester, 20% wool, 10% elastane – is very stretchy and fits well. It’s a fairly warm piece, comparable to a medium-weight fleece, and with the smooth exterior slips nicely under a waterproof. It’s quite long at the back and the sleeves are also long, meaning it would be good for climbing or cycling too.
There are no thumb holes like many other tops here, but that’s not a problem. There’s only one pocket – a good-sized chest pocket – but no hand-warmer pockets. The neck is perfectly judged – comfortable against the skin, even when zipped right up. There’s an internal baffle on the zip too. The new version of the Keb Fleece Jacket also has shoulders reinforced with G-1000 polycotton and a hood that I found a tad too big. The cuffs are elasticated and comfortable. Even with a few minor flaws, it’s a superb mid layer that I’m sure you too will end up wearing on the hill and beyond.
