This year’s North Pennines Walking Festival includes a guided walk up Little Fell, usually inaccessible – one for the baggers
Join the North Pennines AONB Partnership’s staff on the popular annual walk ‘out of bounds’ onto Little Fell in the MOD Warcop firing ranges.
The walk is around 10 miles (circular), hard going in parts across rough moorland, and has 530m of ascent.
On the walk, which allows people to bag one of the more elusive hills over 2,000ft in England (the Hewitts), we will be discovering upland wildlife, mining history and the MOD site as well as getting a chance to see recent peat restoration.
This event is part of the North Pennines Walking Festival, and is organised jointly by the Friends of the North Pennines and the North Pennines AONB Partnership. The festival runs from 30 June to 14 July 2018, and features a variety of events for all ages and abilities.
